Harmony Protocol Development Priorities for 2023

ONE CRYPTO_NEWS

Harmony Protocol Development Priorities for 2023 Harmony Protocol is excited to announce our development plans for Q1, which are focused on improving the scalability, decentralization, and usability of our protocol.

Here’s a closer look at each of the priorities we have set for ourselves:State Prune: As the Harmony network grows, it becomes increasingly important to find ways to reduce the storage requirements for full nodes. That’s why we are working on a state pruning solution that will allow nodes to safely delete old, unnecessary data.

This will not only save on storage costs, but also improve the speed and efficiency of the network.Cross Shard Transactions: One of the key ways we are looking to improve scalability is by allowing transactions to be processed across multiple shards. This will involve significant changes to our transaction processing and consensus algorithms, but we believe it will be a major step forward in terms of the capacity of the network.Light Clients: We want to make it as easy as possible for users to participate in the Harmony network, which is why we are working on “light” client functionality.

This will allow users to interact with the network without needing to run a full node, reducing the resource requirements and making it more accessible to a wider audience.Leader Rotation: Decentralization and security are central to the Harmony protocol, which is why we are implementing a system for regularly rotating the leaders of each shard.

This will involve designing a new leader selection algorithm and integrating it into our consensus protocol to ensure that the network remains decentralized and secure.State Sync: Ensuring that full nodes on the network are able to efficiently synchronize their state is crucial for maintaining the speed and efficiency of the network. That’s why we are working on a state sync solution that will allow nodes to efficiently exchange state data.We are committed to making significant progress on these priority projects in Q1, and we can’t wait to see the impact they will have on the Harmony protocol. Stay tuned for updates on our progress!
