Korean gaming and entertainment company Wemade has formed a strategic partnership with Whampoa Digital, the digital asset investment branch of Singapore’s Whampoa Group. The collaboration between the two companies aims to invest an impressive $100 million in Web3 projects. With a focus on supporting gaming studios and blockchain initiatives, this partnership marks a new development in the industry.

Collaboration and Support for Web3 Projects

WEMIX Play, Wemade’s Web3 platform, is already making waves with over 250,000 active players. It serves as a platform for converting traditional games into blockchain games, leveraging the benefits of blockchain technology. Additionally, the collaboration between Wemade and Whampoa Digital will provide support and resources to gaming studios and blockchain projects looking to establish offices at the WEMIX Play Center in Dubai International Financial Centre’s Innovation Hub. The center will offer state-of-the-art facilities and mentorship to these projects, with the added ecosystem support from Whampoa Digital.

Home to a diverse mix of over 700 organizations, the DIFC Innovation Hub in the MENA region is a thriving center for growth-stage tech companies, established innovators, digital labs, venture capital firms, regulatory agencies, and educational establishments.

The partnership between Wemade and Whampoa Digital goes beyond investment. Both companies are committed to seeking out and nurturing top Web3 projects. By combining their technologies and expertise, they aim to develop innovative blockchain solutions specifically tailored to the Web3 gaming sector. This collaboration is set to foster innovation in the Middle East, one of the world’s fastest-growing regions in the Web3 space.

Pioneering Innovation in the Web3 Gaming Sector

Whampoa Digital operates as the tech-focused investment division of the Whampoa Group, a privately owned investment entity held by prominent Asian families. Specializing in early-stage investments in digital assets and Web3 initiatives, Whampoa Digital collaborates with Web2 and Web3 pioneers to foster innovation and accelerate the widespread adoption of blockchain technology.

Aureole Foong, Senior Partner at Whampoa Group, expressed excitement about the partnership’s potential to explore new horizons in the digital asset industry. “We are excited to be joining forces with Wemade, a powerhouse in the gaming space. This partnership will allow us to pioneer new horizons in the digital asset industry beyond our already established sectors and foster innovation in the Middle East, one of the world’s fastest-growing regions in the Web3 space.
